Open Source Direct-Connect client for Mac OS X

I saw this reported as a bug 2 and 3 years ago. I get it now, and only ever use one hub. No solution was offered.
What do I do?

I'm using OS 10.4.11, Shakespeer 0.9.11.
(I don't know the etiquette, so I didn't include names or client numbers.)
